Corsham · SN13painting & decorating
Character cottage updates, historic stone masonry and high-street standard finishes — preserving Corsham's distinctive market-town identity.
Corsham's Cotswold stone cottages take limewash beautifully, and it is usually the right answer for their walls — breathable, self-healing, and the soft matt finish the buildings were designed for. We mix to traditional colours and reapply on a sensible cycle rather than sealing the stone up.
Painting and decorating across Bath — internal and external, from single rooms to full redecorations. The finish is only ever as good as the prep, so filling, sanding and sealing is where we spend the time. Period properties get breathable paint systems and limewash where the walls need them; modern homes get hard-wearing trade finishes. Sash windows, woodwork, wallpaper and feature walls — all in the same crew, all in the quote.
Corsham's historic High Street, overlooked by Corsham Court, and its surrounding stone cottages represent a unique concentration of Cotswold-style building stock. Our work here focuses on preserving that character — from matching the distinctive oolitic limestone to reinstating traditional lime renders and ensuring new additions sit comfortably within the existing streetscape. Every project, whether a cottage modernisation or a larger-scale conversion, receives the same meticulous material specification. High Street conservation zone compliance, Bath stone sourcing and matching, and town-centre traffic management for site logistics are all part of the standard scope.
If any of these sound like your property, this is the service you want.
Paint applied to wet or unsealed plaster — the timeline includes proper drying and prep
Prep skipped — filling, sanding and sealing is where a paint job is won or lost
Impervious masonry paint on a solid stone wall — traps moisture and peels; breathable systems only
One coat where two are needed — coverage specified at quote, not discovered on the ladder
Woodwork painted over varnish without keying — flakes within a year
Furniture and floors left unprotected — everything sheeted, every day

Verified reviews from recent work.
Older property, kitchen with apex ceiling. Very pleased with the professional finish, friendly team. I was asked before painting commenced what I would like. All surfaces fully protected and covered, no mess left. Impressed with the high standard. Kitchen looks exactly how I wanted it to look with the desired finish.
